Product Story
These unique and elegant earrings are handwoven by the Wounaan, an indigenous community living in Chocó (northwestern Colombia).
Bonita Earrings are made from werregue – a native plant from the Colombian Pacific. Versatile and polyvalent, the werregue -a fiber commonly used to make kitchenware and decoration- is also suitable for fashion accessories.
To make this type of piece, creators use spiral weaving: a technique that consists of the use of a main thread called “soul” around which other werregue colored threads are woven.
